Announcing: More Ways to Secure Your Signups

Getting more attention around your product feels great. Who doesn't love to see their user count skyrocket?
Unfortunately, sometimes extra attention can also draw bad actors.

That's why we're excited to announce that we've released 3 new ways you can keep unwanted users out, without preventing customers you actually want.
Turnstile
If you're using Cloudflare, you can now add Turnstile to your sign up flows. Turnstile helps reduce bot traffic by being a more user-friendly approach to CAPTCHAs. It blocks bots without slowing down signups for your real users.
To enable Turnstile, head over to the Integrations page in your PropelAuth dashboard.

Block Disposable Emails
Disposable email addresses can make it easy for users to take advantage of a free trial program, or obscure their identity. While they can be useful sometimes, it can be frustrating to have users with disposable emails in your user base.
To prevent signups from these email addresses go to Signup / Login -> Settings -> Who Can Signup in the PropelAuth dashboard.
Block IP Addresses associated with spam
You can now choose to block signups and logins from IP addresses that are on spam lists. We spent some time testing a few different sources and are pretty happy with this result - however it can also affect users who use shared VPNs.
To enable this setting, head over to Signup / Login -> Settings -> Misc Settings in the PropelAuth dashboard
More Ways to Secure Your Signups
If you're looking to ensure that your signups are as locked down as possible, check out these other PropelAuth features:
- Email Confirmations: Require that your customers confirm their email upon signup.
- Allowlist/Blocklist: Control which domains are allowed to sign up for your product.
- Public Signup Settings: Choose whether users can self-serve on sign up or need to be created manually.
